  1. Choose ripe mangoes: Select ripe mangoes that are firm but not overripe. Overripe mangoes tend to become mushy when frozen.
  2. Peel and slice the mangoes: Start by peeling the mangoes and removing the flesh from the pit. Slice the mango into desired sizes, either in cubes or thin slices.
  3. Optional: Flash-freeze the mangoes: If you want to prevent the mango slices from sticking together during freezing, you can flash-freeze them. Place the mango slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not touching each other. Put the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze the mango slices for about 1 to 2 hours or until they are partially frozen.
  4. Pack in airtight containers or bags: Transfer the mango slices into airtight freezer-safe containers or resealable freezer bags. Squeeze out any excess air from the bags before sealing to prevent freezer burn.
  5. Label and date: Use a marker or labels to write the date of freezing on the containers or bags. This will help you keep track of their storage time.
  6. Place in the freezer: Put the containers or bags of mango slices in the freezer, making sure they are arranged in a single layer initially. Once they are fully frozen, you can stack them to save space.
  7. Freeze for up to 6 months: Mangoes can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. However, for the best quality, it is recommended to consume them within the first 3-4 months.

When you’re ready to use the frozen mangoes, simply remove the desired amount from the freezer and thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature. Frozen mangoes are great for smoothies, desserts, sauces, or as a topping for yogurt or cereal. Enjoy!
